NRL announces a strategic partner for the 2019 season!

September 18, 2018 – Yorba Linda, CA – The National Rifle League (NRL), a 501c3 non-profit organization dedicated to the growth and education of precision rifle shooting through a range of outdoors-related public interest activities, announced today its partnership with Border War Rifle Series (BWRS).

Since BWRS inception in 2017, it has seen interest from states outside its immediate area to participate in the series. With more regions wishing to participate, BWRS has partnered with National Rifle League as the National-level organizing body, to oversee and assist with promotion, memberships, and score tracking.

The strategic partnership between the NRL and BWRS just makes sense stated Travis Ishida founder of the NRL. With the continued growth of precision rifle shooting and people’s busy schedules it’s not always possible to travel to a 2-day national level match, however people still want to shoot. The one-day regional matches provide this opportunity to get more people out there competing. And with the resources that the NRL will bring to the table this series will flourish.

“We see this as a win – win for both organizations and shooters nationally. The BWRS 1-Day Match format has been proven and it works. The growth in 2 years has been significant; with the excitement of competitive, high round count, organized events within a geographical region, and a year ending regional championship comprised of multiple states, it continues to appeal to many levels of participants. This new strategic partnership comes in excellent timing to accommodate the growth and is to yield a superior level of events being introduced to new and intermediate shooters,” stated Jim See, BWRS Regional Match Director “We look forward to what the future holds for BWRS and NRL. As we write this, work is being done in 6 national regions to create the new level of one day practical precision rifle matches. Where this goes, regarding a National Regional Team Championship, is still in the discussion mode. Rest assured the level of planning and commitment to success of the National Regional BWRS will not be outmatched.”

Border War Rifle Series’ mission is to hold a series of matches that track earned shooter points, outside of the club level of competition with-in each state. Its matches will be predominantly designed for the use of a bolt action precision rifle capable of dialing distances to 1000 yards. The BWRS’ goal is to attract shooters to attend more matches in neighboring states, thus driving up attendance at everyone’s events, while fostering shooter enjoyment, competitiveness, and the diversity of our available ranges.
